Oh Say Can You CEE - 1 Year Later
NASAGAns, as I wrap up my time as Board Chair of NASAGA, I wanted to share a progress report with you. I put out three priorities in my remarks at NASAGA 2023: Connect, Engage, and Experience. Here’s how we did in those areas over the last year
Connect:
We saw a 9% increase in membership on our Discord server. As we sunset our LinkedIn Group, we’ve really been able to focus efforts on making that server our central conversation space. I encourage all of you to recruit more members to the Discord server (use this invite link: https://discord.gg/braEw4Uy), and make it your space for asking questions and sharing ideas about all things game-based learning!
Engage:
We met our goal of holding routine online Game Nights as a space for NASAGAns to connect between conferences. We hosted a different game for each Game Night event, and often had stimulating discussions about how to use that game for learning. However, many of the attendees were our board members. Let’s look for ways to continue boosting Game Nights to make them part of the overall NASAGA brand!
Experience:
NASAGA 2024 was a terrific event, highlighting all of the great games and connections that we’ve come to expect from it. I am so grateful to Lisa Boragine and Veronica Brown for planning such an amazing experience. Please join me in working to get the word out about NASAGA 2025 both to members who haven’t attended in a while along with non-members who would benefit from the experience!
It has been a tremendous honor and pleasure to serve as your chair for the past year. As I pass the baton to Lisa Boragine as the 2024-2025 Board Chair, I know you are in good hands. I can’t wait to see what the next year has in store for us all!
