About NASAGA
The North American Simulation and Gaming Association (NASAGA) is a community of educators, facilitators, trainers, researchers, and game designers dedicated to advancing the use of experiential learning, serious games, and simulations. For more than five decades, NASAGA has been at the forefront of helping people discover how play, creativity, and interactive methods can transform learning and development across industries.
Our Mission
NASAGA’s mission is to promote, create, and share the use of games, simulations, and experiential approaches for learning. We bring together professionals from education, business, healthcare, government, and non-profit organizations who use interactive methods to foster engagement, collaboration, and innovation.
What Do We Do?
Professional Networking: NASAGA provides a vibrant community where educators, trainers, and designers exchange ideas, methods, and best practices.
Annual Conference: Our signature gathering is an interactive, hands-on conference where participants design, play, and reflect on cutting-edge applications of games and simulations.
Workshops and Resources: Throughout the year, NASAGA offers workshops, webinars, and publications that equip professionals with practical tools for creating impactful learning experiences.
Support for Innovation: NASAGA actively supports new creators and practitioners, helping bring novel approaches to game-based learning into classrooms, corporate settings, training programs, and beyond.
Who Do We Serve?
Our members include educators at all levels, corporate trainers, simulation center leaders, instructional designers, game developers, researchers, and consultants. No matter your field, if you’re passionate about using games and simulations to engage learners and spark change, NASAGA is your community.
Why Join NASAGA?
Becoming part of NASAGA means joining a collaborative and creative network where knowledge is shared openly, experimentation is encouraged, and professional growth is fueled by play. Together, we’re reimagining what learning can be for the 21st century.
Our Commitment to Inclusive Play
At NASAGA, we believe that games and simulations are powerful tools for connection, creativity, and learning—and that power can only be realized when every participant feels safe, respected, and welcomed. We are committed to building an environment where people of all backgrounds, identities, abilities, and experiences can engage fully and freely.
Respect and Safety: We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, or exclusionary behavior in any form. Every player, facilitator, and participant deserves to feel safe and valued.
Accessibility: We strive to design and share games and learning experiences that are accessible to people of diverse physical, cognitive, and sensory abilities. When barriers exist, we work collaboratively to adapt and ensure participation.
Representation: We actively welcome voices, perspectives, and stories that reflect the richness of human diversity. Inclusive play is at its best when a variety of experiences and identities are represented.
Collaboration over Competition: While games often include rules and win conditions, NASAGA emphasizes play that fosters collaboration, mutual respect, and growth.
Our inclusive values are more than policies—they are practices we uphold together. By committing to these principles, NASAGA ensures that our community remains a space where play leads to discovery, empathy, and transformation for all.
