Your Conference Options (Saturday AM)
This is the last of our series of blogs called “Your Conference Options.” This lays out the different elements of the NASAGA 2024 schedule and what you can expect throughout the conference. You can always see the agenda grid at a glance here or browse descriptions directly here. And of course, don’t forget about our amazing Play Facilitator preconference; learn more about that here. And if you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time!
One last day! You may be dragging a bit, but there’s still a great pair of breakouts and one last conference-wide session to enjoy.
Exploring Catan (Tim Handley)
Dig into the phenomenon that is Catan! Far from fading out, sales skyrocketed 144% in the first months of 2020, as quarantines kicked in. Learn the game (if you don’t know it), play the game (good for all ages), then dig into the design and messaging. We’ll use Jesse Schell’s Deck of Lenses to explore the impact of various rules and mechanics on fun, then investigate subtext and messaging through the lens of procedural rhetoric.
Efficiency Game (Silviana Falcon)
Join us for “Leadership and Efficiency: A Lean Six Sigma Simulation,” a dynamic workshop designed for all professionals interested in enhancing operational efficiency through effective leadership. Engage in a strategic game that demystifies Lean Six Sigma principles, emphasizing the critical roles of leadership and teamwork.
After the breakouts, we have the final conference-wide session:
Digital Escape Room Whodunit About Digital Accessibility (Dr. Heather Wire)
Let's put your critical thinking to the test! Will you solve the crime in this digital escape room and escape with the understanding of the role that accessible content plays in online learning?
Finally, we’ll come back together for one last closing session. But don’t worry - NASAGA 2025 will already be underway for planning!
